SUV Falls into Umpqua near Reedsport, Driver Dead

The accident occurred on Highway 38, six miles to the east of Reedsport, according to police reports. The driver was heading west when he steered the vehicle into the river. He was not wearing safety restraints at the time of the accident and died when the vehicle submerged in the river.
