The accident occurred when Monserrat Garcia, 18, was crossing the road at the crosswalk with the light in her favor. She was hit by the Amtrak charter bus near the Greyhound Bus Station at NW 6th Avenue and Glisan. The driver of the bus, a 68-year-old man from Portland stayed back and cooperated with the police. He was not impaired at the time of the accident but has been cited for failure to yield and careless driving.
